This family needs our help

This family needs our help, both prayerfully and financially.  Lyndsay is the daughter of my very best friend...she is family.  As I have watched this struggle progress I felt the need to do something, so I'm taking it to my friends on social media, their friends and so on...whoever will share her story, pray for her or consider donating to help her in this quest to find answers and healing.  She literally has no life at this moment.  She will travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN early next week.

Lyndsay Brewer is a single mom with 3 children. She has always been active, healthy, and a dedicated worker. About two years ago, she started having symptoms that something was “off”. It started at first with her heart, then to her having sensitivity to light, stabbing head pain and other neurological/ nerve issues. Over these last 24 months, Lyndsay has continued to digress, with symptoms only worsening in intensity and new symptoms arising. As a single working mother of 3, she has tried to maintain caring for her children and work a full time job despite the physical hardship this has caused.

During all of this she has had two MRI’s, a CT scan, lumbar puncture, has spent countless hours in emergency rooms, had an untold number of tests, and has been seen by more than 6 specialists. Not one of them has been able to diagnosis what is going on.

All of the symptoms only happen on the left side of her body. Stabbing head pains are now happening all day, sometimes causes loss of vision in her eyes and / or stroke like symptoms, extreme photophobia (sensitivity to light) that has left her unable to leave her dark bedroom for more than an hour at a time. Nerve issues that have caused random sharp pains in her left arm and leg, and sometimes numbness in her hand or foot. She has extreme fatigue, because her body is unable to rest. She has a great deal of pain in her left hip, as the muscle has atrophied, due to nerve damage. Her left calf muscle is now showing signs of atrophying as well. All of this combined has kept her from a job that she loves and children that she loves even more. She is now unable to drive, work or care for her children. The past 4 weeks, this illness has left her completely debilitated, unable to live a normal life.

Needless to say, the hospitals, specialists, doctors, supplements, prescription after prescription, and test after test has cost a great deal of money. Lyndsay’s little family is becoming completely overwhelmed at the expense to try and find a diagnosis and cure.

The doctors here in Nashville have exhausted all efforts and the next step is going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She has been approved for an appointment, but has to commit to being there for three to seven days. There will be expenses for travel, time spent in another city and additional medical expenses.

Lyndsay knows her life, her future are in the hands of Jesus. He is her strong tower. She feels as though this opportunity to go to Mayo is a blessing, as it is extremely difficult to get an appointment. Having originally been told the appointment wouldn’t be until the end of September, it was truly a gift from God that they were able to get her an appointment on the 1st of August. She believes for COMPLETE healing, whether it comes through a miracle or through the God-given wisdom of the doctors. She is ready to get back to her life, her children, her job. Her children are ready to have their mom back. She’s ready to live again, pain free and in the light.
