Flexible Seating for my Students
Donation protected
As a middle school teacher, I live for the lightbulb moments, the aha moments, and the, "Ooh, I get it!" moments. What teacher doesn't? I believe that student choice plays an important role in those moments and in the learning process, which is why I would like to introduce flexible seating in my classroom this year. If you're unfamiliar with flexible seating, it allows students to work in an environment they feel most motivated in. This often includes standing tables, couches, core stability balls, floor seating with writing surfaces, etc. Flexible seating challenges students to take ownership of their learning environment. It teaches team work, problem solving, and ultimately allows students to make choices when it comes to their education.
Last school year I implemented flexible seating with one of my classes, and it was very successful. This year I would like to implement flexible seating in all my classes.
I would like to purchase two tables, a couch, a coffee table, and supplies to convert an existing table into a standing table. Any donations are greatly appreciated in helping me achieve this classroom goal.
