Jen's electric wheelchair

Dear friends and family,

You probably haven't heard much from me the last few years. There are two reasons for this: I have been sick. Very, very, very sick. And at the same time, on a crazy, mission to make a movie  and save the world  in the process (or at least, make it a little bit better)

When I began my journey, I was completely bedridden. Fortunately, little by little, I have improved to the point where I am able to start traveling independently. However, I still need a wheelchair to go more than a few feet. 

Omar is the most amazing wheelchair pusher in the world. But as the schedule for the the film's completion starts ramping up and as health allows, I need to become more independent – and give Omar more of his independence. To do that, I need a chair that can move on its own steam.

With everything we have been investing in Canary  and #MEAction (time, funds) and after five years of illness, money is tight for us. A chair like this is an extravagance that has become a necessity.

I am aiming to raise $2,700 to buy a lightweight, foldable, power wheelchair which I can take with me on flights. I hope you can help by making a small donation – every five dollars helps!

I hope to travel with it to the Tribeca Film Festival in April, the TED Summit, the Fledgling Engagement Lab and more.

I am so excited about buying this chair – it's milestone and a marker of a new level of health and independence. I keep improving very slowly and truly believe one day, one way or another, I will be well.
