Emergency Tooth Extraction

Donation protected
Hello.

Long story short: I desperately need a tooth extraction for a tooth that broke due to a cavity nearly 10 years ago. It is also infected, which leaves me in constant pain; both in the tooth and as a headache that feels like a migraine. As I write this it has been 3 days straight of pain that barely reacts or doesn't react to over-the-counter pain relievers, and I am very concerned.

If anyone needs 'proof' I can privately provide pictures of the tooth in question, but would rather not have them publicly available.

The longer story:

I've always had very severe dental problems. As a child I was very fussy about brushing my teeth, to the point that my mother eventually gave up. She would raise me on a diet of soda, sugary drinks, acidic foods, all while never once brushing my teeth or going to the dentist. I would not regularly brush my teeth until I was 12 years old, well after my adult teeth had grown in and the damage was done. Around this age I finally saw a dentist, who was very livid with my mother. I distinctly remember him saying: "I would not wish this mouth on my worst enemy."

I moved away from my mother at 15, but even while living with my aunt and uncle, getting my teeth fixed was never anyone's priority.

As an impoverished, unemployed adult and an uninsured American, it has proven incredibly difficult to find the money and/or the means to go to the dentist. As such, I have not been able to get this tooth taken care of for several years now, erring on a decade. It is also infected, which leaves me with occasional headaches and toothaches which are painful enough that they leave me incapacitated.

As I stated earlier, the tooth has been getting progressively worse and it has now been 3 days straight of pure pain. The pain reacts little to ibuprofen, if at all. I am incredibly concerned about this. It hinders my ability to do basic day to day necessities, such as work, or filling out job applications, and turns eating into a chore. Furthermore, I'm worried about the amount of pain relievers I consume, as I can't imagine it's healthy for my liver and stomach.

I cannot continue putting off this extraction. I keep telling myself 'I'll do it next year when things are more stable' but I have learned recently 'stable' never happens, as life is naturally hectic.

I am kindly requesting 2000 USD. Here's what it will go into:

1. The first 1000 will be to cover the initial examination, x-ray, antibiotics, and the actual extraction itself. This is not my first extraction, and I believe I can get it for under 1000 USD if I play my cards right.

2. The second 1000 will be a safety net of sorts. This is in case the overall extraction ends up more expensive than anticipated. This will cover any surprise fees, as well as any potential work I need done beyond the initial extraction. Anything left will be used to cover apartment rent, groceries, and other necessities.

My deepest gratitude to anyone who donates or shares the link around. I have many dental health issues that need addressing, but right now this tooth extraction is priority, and will do wonders for not just the health of my teeth, but my overall self and quality of life!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day.
