Trevor & Molly’s Unexpected Life Flight...Cont’d!!

Donation protected
Monday morning, February 11, Trevor Manning, while working at Omnipure Filter in Caldwell, Idaho, had an accident that would change his and his wife Molly’s lives.... possibly forever.

Trevor works on a carbon filter assembly line where he watches to make sure that the filters do not fall off the conveyer after they come out of the massive industrial oven.
At about 8:30 am Monday, one of the filters had fallen and Trevor reached to bring it upright...

This is when he got caught by the heated mechanical arm that pushes these filters out of the machine, he was forced to his knees with his face, neck and arm pinned up against the 425 degree oven.   Trevor said that he Screamed for Help and that it took what felt like Forever for co-workers to be able to  disassemble the machine enough to Finally Free him.....

The result left him with a very seriously burned right side of his face and neck, burns on his left shoulder and 3rd degree burns on top of crushed muscle and tissue  from his fingertips to just above his fractured elbow, from his arm being forcibly pinched by the hot hydraulic arm pinning him to the oven.

Trevor was rushed to St.Al's Hospital off Curtis Rd in Boise by ambulance, with Molly by his side, where after his arrival he was assessed and they immediately contacted the Burn Trauma Center at University of Utah Hospital.

The specialist instructed St. Al's to immediately insert a breathing tube because the swelling and blistering in his throat was causing trouble with his breathing, they then were able to stabilized Trevor enough for his Life Flight to Utah.

Molly was told that they were going to Life Flight Trevor to Utah within the hour and that she was able go with him, but needless to say she was totally unprepared to leave, only having $3.66 and no resources to go so unexpectedly....
But a very caring Chaplain at St Al's came to her rescue, giving her $120.00 in cash and bag full of food, but most importantly the much needed emotional support and guidance that she needed at this very scary time.

With in two hours of arriving at the Burn Trauma Unit in Salt Lake City, one of the nations top Burn Surgeon's and her experienced team took Trevor into surgery.....

During the First of Many expected surgeries they used donated cadaver skin and mesh on his face and neck as a temporary skin graft.  They had to remove very serious 3rd degree burned skin on his left arm, after which they preformed a 12 inch fasciotomy, which is a procedure to cut the skin down to the muscle to relieve the pressure caused by the swelling and blistering that could kill the blood vessels and cause severe tissue damage and possible loss of his arm.

Trevor has been very brave during this  painful and potentially life changing experience.  He and Molly were told that he would need to be at the Hospital for at least 4 to 6 weeks for additional surgeries...
And physical, occupational and emotional therapies.....

In the mean time Molly has been very brave as well, being all alone in Salt Lake and not knowing what was happening or going to happen with Trevor????? But wanting to be there by his side thru everything to come.

We as Molly's parents, after hearing of the accident, made the 6 hour drive to Utah to help her and Trevor in anyway that we can....
Arriving Monday Evening, we rented a place for Molly to stay until we could figure out what we needed to do for her for the long road ahead, knowing that we needed to find the means and a place for Molly to live during Trevor's long expected treatment and recovery period.
Trevor’s parents and brother were also able to make the long trip from Idaho to give Trevor their love and support.

The first most immediate need was to purchase some clothing and personal essentials for Molly, since she basically came to Utah with the clothes on her back, which even going to Walmart, cost over $100.00.  We then found a room with a kitchenette at the University Patient and Family housing,  but we had to pay $1075.00 for the month up front.  This equals only $38.00 a night, but is still not an easy thing for us to do.
We are now going to need to stock up her kitchen with groceries and other necessary items and Trevor will need clothing as well to wear while he is at the hospital.

We found out today that Workman's Comp will pay for all medical expenses that are approved for Trevor's care, which is great because they do not have any Medical Insurance at this time.

They were already struggling financially but now with Trevor only going to receive a fraction of his pay from Workman's Comp and with Molly not working, before this awful accident, now they will really need immediate help!!  With Help Molly will be able to be  here to give her support to Trevor, but also so they can pay the rent for their small apartment in Caldwell as well as the utilities and up keep.

Who knows what the future will bring????  How long before Trevor can go back to work????  The unknown is very hard to bare.....

We need to help them immediately so that Trevor and Molly can face the future together without having to worry about the financial problems....

Can you help them as well???  Anything would be appreciated.....
