Clarkston Thanksgiving Boxes

Donation protected

Thanksgiving is a holiday that embodies the togetherness of a people, native and foreign, in a land they, united, can call home. It is also time that we share our family traditions, crossing between generations and cultural differences. The true beauty of Thanksgiving is that two cultures can come together to share a meal.
While turkey is still the centerpiece of many, but certainly not all, Thanksgiving tables, the offerings of immigrants have created many  “traditional Thanksgiving” variations to celebrate and reflect upon their blessings.

However,  celebrating Thanksgiving in a new culture can be very taxing on refugee families, especially in Clarkston Georgia. Clarkston is known as "the most diverse square mile in America", formed by the refugee resettlement program put in place for those seeking asylum. Many expressed that they strive to celebrate the blessings they have: to be given the opportunity to make a home for themselves where there are freedoms, opportunities, and basic human rights that, for so many, does not exist their home countries. The main issue is not what Thanksgiving is, but how to celebrate it.

What We Set Out To Do:

We would like to make traditional meal boxes, tailored to the meet the needs and cultural backgrounds of families in Clarkson.

Each meal box is able to feed a family of four with 3 meals

Our goal to help fifteen families,  in Clarkston GA. We would love to help even more families than our set goal with your help!

We are working with World Relief Atlanta to help provide Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes for these families who are truly in need during this season

Each box cost $35

100% Goes to funding these families

Our ideal goal to reach $550  by November 21st, 2018.

We have room to help even more  more families.

About Us:

We are Thanksgivers.  Our friend group strives to face a new challenge every season to help those within the community: whether it was a single mother and her family or helping out in a homeless shelter. Over the years we've seen how just a small group can impact the lives of many.
Though the seven of us all grew up in different backgrounds and cultures, together we have discovered how our differences have molded us into the people we are today.  We would like to spread our joy to others and throughout our community.

Thank you so much for your contribution! With your help, you too will pass joy to another family.

If you would like to leave your email we would love to personally thank you for your HELP!
