We are foster parents and along with our two kiddos, we immediately took in a sibling group of three the first day we were certified!  They were with us for just over a year.  Currently we have another sibling pair, along with our two boys.  There are two other children we would like to provide a loving home for and we have the room to do so, but until recently, we didn't have the transportation necessary.  Our minivan was maxed out!  We have been searched for a 10-12 seat van to accommodate our growing family, allowing us to continue to accept children who need homes but it just wasn't in our budget.

We especially have a heart for sibling groups--trying to keep brothers and sister together so they aren't separated into various foster homes.  At the urging of our friends and family, we have decided to post this GoFundMe page in order to raise money for the van.  With generous donations, we were able to put money down on a van and we've loved having it!! But we have a ways to go before it's totally paid off, and we REALLY need it to be!

Please consider a donation so we can continue to help out children in need of a loving home!

Well, we got the official word from Colorado DHS yesterday that the kids are coming. Joe received his itinerary today. He's flying out Saturday afternoon and he'll be home with the kids Sunday around noon. I can't believe how quickly it finally happened after nearly two years of working with DHS.

I've been busy working on rearranging rooms and purging stuff. Since we've finally had a few days of dry weather, Joe is hoping to finish the storage shed this afternoon. I hope I can get everything prepared before they arrive on Sunday.

We're so thankful for the texts, messages, and cards with encouragements and prayers. We are so anxious...and nervous...and excited...and...you name it--we've probably felt it.

Thank you everyone. Just wanted to keep ya'll updated!

So just before office closing time tonight, Joe was finally able to get through to the caseworker. We found out he will be flying out next Saturday to go get the kids. BOOM! Just like that.

Next weekend we'll have SIX kids!

We can't thank each of you enough for your prayers, encouragement, and offers of help. I'm struggling with trying to get everything accomplished and ready in the next 8 days.

After nearly two years, I can't believe it's finally happening!

These last few days have been such a whirlwind! While trying to get the house prepared for two more kids, we determined that we just had to have some more storage. After many calls, we discovered storage units were not the way to go. We decided to buy a prefab shed and put it together. However, a good friend who is a contractor, gave us the specs for building a much sturdier, stick-built structure.

We were supposed to go to a big pumpkin patch on Saturday, but instead, the four families we were supposed to be going with, came to our house and we did a good, 'ole-fashioned barn raising. While the kids carved pumpkins and played, the guys were able to build about 2/3 of the shed. Now Joe and Ron are out in the rain and dark, trying to get it finished up, so we can move stuff out of the house and make room!

We have experienced some incredible generosity! We've received a couple of checks in the mail. Our church gave us a gift to help with some of the lumber for the shed. And we've had many friends offering to come over and help with the organizing/moving.

Three days ago, our washer died and the laundry has been piling up! Tonight we found a used washer and the people selling it are on their way to deliver it AND install it. We are so blessed.

Things feel so hectic and uncertain but we are grateful for all of the provision, prayers, and practical ways God is providing every day!

To those who have prayed, sent money, come over and helped...Thank you! THANK YOU! Thank you.

We just want to keep you all updated and as we get more firm dates, we'll post about when the kids are actually going to arrive.

Wow! Things are moving fast! We are getting the word that the kids may be here in just a couple weeks.

We have so much work to do preparing the house and rearranging rooms to make space for eight people to be living in our home soon!

A couple of days ago we had to spend $150 on a new battery for the van. It has left me stranded three times in the last three weeks. Thank God for good friends, family, and AAA! As it turns out, we discovered it still had the original manufacturer's battery, so it was definitely time. The expense just couldn't have come at a much harder time.

We're trying to do everything we can to prepare. We're so thankful for everyone's encouragement, well-wishes, and prayers. Thank you so, so much!!
