This Mission Restore Dominica is designed to aid in disaster relief efforts for our Brothers and Sisters in Dominica due to Hurricane Maria causing unprecedented damage on the Nature Isle on September 18th, 2017.
Families in the affected Villages are now facing the task of rebuilding.
UrtheRootz is committed to offering all the assistance we can. There are enough of us LiteHearts, that together, our contribution[s] can make a significant difference.
OurTeam's priority has been erecting basic Home Structures, repairing existing houses and distributing aid to meet the basic needs of people within the vicinity of our Base.
UrtheRootz Restore Dominica has a vision of building ply wood 10*12 ft temporary home shelters, similar to what many viewed as home before Maria. We will be paying close attention to deep foundations and hurricane strapped roofs. Each home costs roughly USD $2,500 to build.
From our recent trips to Dominica its evident that even to this day the islanders are still in shock. The mission will boost moral and optimism for the people of Dominica. Thousands are homeless and even those with houses can't have a peaceful sleep during a rainy night when there are so many leaks through the roofs. Nightly rains are frequent. Hundreds of flimsy relief tents are leaking and are being blown in the wind nightly. UrtheRootz has a team of builders on the ground of Dominica. We can erect these shelters very fast. We believe a sacred space; a private small shelter will assist some in their healing. We presently have two operating bases in Dominica, in St Cyr; a village in the Kalinago Territory and the spa healing village of Wotten Waven. This village's spas who for decades have been welcoming and healing people from all over the world is now in need of our help.
We are determined to distribute aid and get it wherever it is required by any means necessary. We are Energetic, Adaptable and always Hopeful.
Remember that this is our time to make a difference with action.
