Supporting Inclusive Learning during the Pandemic

Donation protected
During these extraordinary times, many teachers, learners and families have been feeling uncertain and anxious about the closure of schools and the cancellation of exams. We know this has been extremely unsettling, and it remains our overwhelming priority to support you throughout this unprecedented situation.

A preschool classroom is like no other in the world. It is a home for little ones for six to eight hours a day. Teachers not only provide education in math, reading, and other school subjects, they provide stability, love, acceptance, and support for amazing little people. Teachers educate the whole child. Personally, I strive to teach values, love, and acceptance in my classroom as well.

Since we left school on March 10th, for what was supposed to be short period and turned out to be for the remainder of the last two school terms, learning has looked and felt very different for my students. They are learning from home, working online and some, and some are struggling to understand the lesson due to distraction within the home or lack of resources.

Even though we're planing for distance learning, some form of in-person teaching will still have to take place as this is how preschooler/kindergartner learn best.
We will need an abundance of resources as times has been difficult with parents losing their jobs but still wanting the best for their children's education. Wipes, face shields, hand sanitizer to help keep us clean and our equipment germ-free are one of our main resource so students can create, explore, and learn without sharing their germs!

We have no idea what September will look like here in Trinidad and Tobago, and our supplies were low when school closed down in March. We need to restock to ensure safety for our students and our staff when we return in September. This fundraiser will not only help us support our students academic journey but also help maintain proper and supply us with the tools needed to support their learning in a clean and germ-free environment.

I would like to do what I can to keep my students safe and healthy at home and  during the Covid 19 pandemic and also when they return.  Now, if only someone could figure out how to keep their boogers off the toys!
