Urgent Medical 4 Theron Burgess

    My son Theron Burgess has suffered from insomnia since his senior year at Boulder High  School, 26 years ago!  His cycles of insomnia  last for weeks, leaving  him completely exhausted. His body is depleted to the point he feels he cannot carry on.
         Theron has fought gallantly to lead an active life and to work; despite years of insomnia which triggers  depression and fatigue. He is physically depleted and exhausted affecting his ability to work consistently and effectively.  This in turn impacts his  finances.  Compounding debt exacerbates his ability to relax and foresee a stable future.  He experiences extreme anxiety from these pressures. Regret and comparison to others his age who are doing well financially, is an excruciating pain that compounds his need to give up.  At times, Theron feels like his world is falling apart, despite his efforts to maintain a "normal" lifestyle.
    Theron has good instincts about what his body needs, he has worked with excellent  alternative care professionals, such as acupuncturist and therapist who have helped tremendously.   He is socially active with men's Waka Ama paddling groups, Aikido, and time outdoors. We have taken Theron to the Mayo clinic and renowned Dr.s in various specialties , to no avail. However,  at this critical juncture he needs a complete blood panel, genetic and hormonal testing and possibly other modern medical testing. Theron also needs to be in a  rest/care/healing/detox facility to recover.
     He urgently needs money for treatment which may not be funded through the New Zealand public health system. This will be determined once we have found the appropriate care pathways.  We are currently searching for and researching appropriate and effective facilities.  
     We all know what it is like when we do not have enough sleep, how it affects our body, our mind and our ability to focus. Imagine 26 years of episodic insomnia!  During such times, one to two weeks of the month you are unable to sleep.   How would that affect our relationships, jobs and self esteem?  Theron's strength, courage and determination is unfathomable.
     Despite Theron's strength and perseverance,  he has depleted his energy reserves, feels quite discouraged, and has lost his typical passion and clear vision.  Most of all Theron needs to know it is not too late.   With your help   we can all support and enable Theron to recover and be the wonderful Poppa his precious daughter needs.
