Our little urban farm is growing!
Urban Grange Farm began with just three chickens and two pigs in 2016. My husband and I started this farm when we both were active duty soldiers. Over the last year, we have expanded our farm thanks to the support of our community, family, and friends. We now have over 30 American Guinea Hogs, 75 chickens, and 9 Tennessee Fainting Goats. All of these animals are raised on pasture without the use of hormones or antibiotics.
This was also the first year of our market garden. We focus on growing heirloom varieties suited to our climate, without the aid of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or herbicides. We feed over fifteen families from our small plot!
It's time for us to make some much needed upgrades and improvements. The funds received from this campaign will allow us to purchase a used BCS walking tractor with all the implements to create more garden beds and more efficiently maintain the ones already in production. We'd like to be funded by the end of Fall to ensure that our cover crops are installed and our winter garden beds will be ready for transplants. Having this equipement will be a gamechanger for us!
