Urbana High School Orchestra New York Trip

I am the Urbana High School Orchestra Director and I am raising money for the Urbana High School Orchestra. The funds will be used to pay for a competition to the National High School Orchestra Cup in New York City from March 5-March 9, 2020. The cost is about $40,000. In addition to hearing other amazing school orchestras perform, we will also perform and receive a clinic, sight see the 9/11 memorial, Times Square, Chinatown and Rockefeller Plaza. We will also see the Broadway musical, "Wicked," and we will go to Carnegie Hall to hear Ax/Kavakos and Yo Yo Ma. We will end the trip having dinner with the other competitors on a Spirit Cruise.
The students have been raising money by doing fundraisers such as selling cheesecakes, Urbana Music apparel and performing in various public places and at special events.
Due to the high cost of the trip, many students are still in need of financial assistance. I believe that every student should be able to get the opportunity to experience this amazing adventure and that financial issues should not be the reason they cannot.
Our final payment is due at the end of February 2020.
Any financial support that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. The students are working hard and are practicing not only during the school day, but at after school practices that I am leading.
We are even practicing over winter break. I am excited that the students want to do well and are working diligently to be able to successfully and musically play this high level of music.
