On December 21st , Dustin went into cardiac arrest which also led to aspiration of fluid into his lungs. He went an estimated thirty minutes with lack of oxygen to his brain as a result of this tragedy.
Over the last few days our family has clung to the ounce of hope the doctors and team of medical professionals have given us. A series of steps have been taken since the event happened, that would hopefully provide his body and brain the ability to heal from the trauma that occurred.
On December 24th multiple tests were ran to see what level of brain activity, if any, was left. Unfortunately this morning, December 25th, our family received the news no one ever wants to receive, especially on Christmas morning. Dustin has no brain activity what so ever, and we have been told that we must make the decision to remove him from life support.
Dustin is a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, and a friend to many that will be extremely missed by his loved ones here on earth. 34 years is not nearly long enough, but God has called Dustin home, and he has finished his race here on heart. Our family will soon gather together to make a seemingly impossible decision to send him to his heavenly home.
Dustin had no life insurance, and no health insurance when this took place. We as a family ask that if you have a place in your heart, and are able to offer a financial donation to help prepare for his services and final resting place, we will be forever grateful for your generosity. This is an untimely tragedy that none of us were prepared for emotionally or financially.
We are thankful for every prayer, every kind word, every thought, and every embrace that has been offered to us during this time. Please pray for our peace and comfort during the coming days and weeks ahead that we must face. Together, as a family, and with support of our friends and loved ones, we will get through this one day at a time.
