We want to spend our spring break in Florida.
But not for the reasons you might think.
As members of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln chapter of the American Copy Editors Society, we plan to forgo a week of lounging on the beach for three days of training and networking at the ACES national conference in St. Petersburg.
We've estimated registration, travel and lodging costs for each student to be about $1,000 -- a small price to pay for the opportunities the conference will provide. However, many of us are unable to fund the trip independently.
With your support, together with our own fundraising efforts, we hope to send a handful of English and journalism students to "the nation's premier editing conference."
With "dozens of informative sessions and networking opportunities," rest assured your donation will go to good use.
