Unexpected Medical Expenses

Our friends, the Carter’s have come into some unexpected and unforeseen circumstances and are truly in need of any assistance that you all can grant them. Just a little background of what’s going on...
Stephen was getting intermittent fevers for the last month. At first, they thought it was the flu or a bug going around. After the second and third time of breaking the fevers on his own, he got a fever of 102.5. He went to his PCP and they basically ignored his complaints and symptoms, gave him a diagnosis that didn’t match and sent him on his way. His fever rose again and his shakes were so bad by the next day he was in the ER with the same symptoms. Before being admitted he was presented with some pretty scary possibilities.
He was admitted on August 6th. He began working with a GI specialist, infectious disease specialist, oncologist, nephrologist and his hospitalist. They began running tests and bloodwork multiple times a day, they did an endoscopy, colonoscopy, kidney biopsy, spinal tap, 3 CT scans, 3 X rays, and an MRI. In the first few days we knew he was septic and in kidney and liver failure but we didn’t know the reason for all of this; this is the answer we are still looking for.
Currently Stephen is undergoing daily dialysis which seems to be helping, but is no closer to a definitive diagnosis. This is but a brief recap of everything that has happened in the last 7 days but as I’m sure you can guess the medical expenses are amassing astronomically. Furthermore Teasha is his primary caregiver and now they are at a place where she either returns to work and leaves him in the hospital alone or stays with him and does not know where a paycheck will come from. Their family is doing all they can to help with the kids, dogs, the house and regular life responsibilities. Unfortunately, the need is now going far beyond that so if you have it in your heart and more so in your wallet, please consider helping.
Stephen and Teasha are believing God is in control of this situation. They are remaining positive and know that no matter how many “bad” reports they might get, there is only one report they’ll believe. Please keep them and their family in your prayers.
