Unconquered: Sanitary Pad Factory

Donation protected
It’s not every day we can make the world a better place but today is the day. Lets address the taboo subject of periods for the sake of womens dignity.

Through Empower Aid we are enabling girls in South Asia through a Sanitary Pad.

#TheProblem

Only 12% of India's 355 million menstruating women use sanitary napkins.
Over 88% of women resort to shocking alternatives like unsanitised cloth, ashes and husk sand.
Incidents of Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI) is 70% more common among these women and inadequate menstrual protection makes adolescent girls (age group 12-18 years) miss 5 days of school in a month (50 days a year). Around 23% of these girls actually drop out of school after they started menstruating."
The biggest barrier to using a sanitary napkin is affordability. Around 70% of women in India say their family can't afford to buy them. Times of India

Why #Pressforprogress?

Because we believe all girls would have a right to education. No girl should be uneducated because she misses school 5 days a month simply because she has no access to a sanitary pad.
Imagine the difference this would make to their life?
Young women, tomorrow's generation being able to answer the dream in their heart. To create, to be, to go further than maybe what has been offered to them in their family home.
We also believe that women have the right to be healthy, energised and creative. Women can't be these things if they can't access safe menstruation practices.

How are we going to #Pressforprogress?

We are going to resource an amazing team of women who will build a sanitary pad factory in South Asia.
(So excited...step 1 to women being empowered)

Our $$$ will empower women:
· With sewing skills to create sanitary pads;
· To provide education around menstruation;
· To access public toilets that are safe and accessible.

We can release so many children who are dreaming and imagining just like any other child. They have different coloured skin and live in a different country but they, at this moment, they are no different to our children however, very soon they will be different to us simply because they can't access a sanitary pad.

We can help keep their little dreams alive, their giftedness alive, their sacred purpose alive by funding a vision that empowers and brings dignity.
If not now... WHEN
If not me...WHO
