Dennis Scheel's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
I am Katherine Hickman and Neice of my late uncle, Dennis Scheel.  On behalf of my grandmother, Karen D Scheel, who is also Dennis Scheel's mother, I am setting up this account.  As Dennis was a simple man, he had no assets.  For the past 8 years, he has been disabled and unemployed, therefore he did not have any sort of insurance nor income.  He also had no life insurance policies. In his earlier years, he served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Equipmentman (Catapults and Arresting Gear) on several Aircraft Carriers and served for 19 years and 7 months.  Until the past two weeks, he was unaware of any benefits that he could receive and had just started the process of pursuing government assistance.  He has been in the care of the VA for the past four years as far as health care.  He resided with his mother and sister.  You can see his obituary here: Dennis Scheel's Obituary

Dennis wished to be cremated and did not want anything fancy or outlandish.  As a family, we are pooling together to attempt to cover the costs that are required for his wishes to be fulfilled.  We are in the process of setting up for Dennis to be laid to rest at the National Cemetary in Dallas/Fort Worth area.  However, the actual service is all that is covered under his benefits as a disabled veteran.   We are in need of assitance to help with the process that the funeral home needs to perform. We are not looking to have anything more than is absolutely necessary to honor him and his remains.  We  need to also purchase the death certificates for various legal reasons.

We will not be given Dennis' remains until the amount is paid to the funeral home.  When we do receive the remains, we do not have funds to travel to Dallas.  The amount requested is including all that I have listed.  The sooner we can gather the necessary funds, the sooner we can set up with the VA for his service in Dallas.

We love Dennis so much but are financially unable to take care of this completely by ourselves.  It is very important to our family that we be able to tribute him and his life appropriately.  Any little amount you could contribute would be appreciated beyond words.
