Wer sind wir und was singen wir?
Wir sind der Chor CoroCantiamo aus Erlangen (Deutschland).
Wir sind ein kleiner Kammerchor, der sich seit vielen Jahren der Wiederbelebung der musikalischen Verbindung Venedig-Nürnberg verschrieben hat.
So haben wir bereits viele Konzerte mit Werken von Venedig-Stipendiaten wie Hans Leo Hassler, Johann Staden und deren venezianischen Lehrer Andrea und Giovanni Gabrieli gegeben. Diese Komponisten sind allesamt Repräsentanten der Venezianischen Mehrchörigkeit, dem sogenannten „Stile speccato“, einem Musizieren verschiedener Chöre von verschiedenen Punkten in einer Kirche.
Nun wollen wir endlich nach Venedig fahren mit einem Programm, das nicht so ganz aus Nürnberg stammt, sondern eigentlich die Endphase darstellt in der Verarbeitung der venezianischen Mehrchörigkeit.
Wir wollen Bach doppelchörig in Venedig singen, dazu seine Motette „Jesu, meine Freude“ als Passions-Programm, und wollen dies in Dialog setzen mit venezianischer Musik, nämlich von Antonio Lotti und Domenico Scarlatti, Bachs Zeitgenossen.
Das 10-stimmige „Stabat Mater“ von Scarlatti in seiner unglaublichen, raumgreifenden Klangfülle führt die 200 Jahre früher entstandene venezianische Mehrchörigkeit zu einer Vollendung eigener Art.
Warum wenden wir uns an Euch?
Wir haben seit langer Zeit den Herzenswunsch, nach Venedig zu kommen und diese wunderbare Musik am Ort ihres Ursprungs zu singen. Leider mussten wir dieses Projekt schon mehrmals verschieben, weil uns die finanziellen Mittel gefehlt haben.

Mit Eurer Spende finanzieren wir
- bis zu 5 Musiker auf historischen Instrumenten für die Continuogruppe,
- ihre Unterbringung,
- sowie die Leihgebühr für eine Truhenorgel

Who are we and what are we singing?
We are the choir CoroCantiamo from Erlangen (Germany). We are a small chamber choir, which for many years has dedicated itself to the revival of the musical connection between Venice and Nuremberg. We have already given many concerts with works by Venice scholarship holders such as Hans Leo Hassler, Johann Staden and their Venetian teachers Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli. These composers are all representatives of the Venetian polyphony, the so-called "stile speccato", a music by several choirs from different points in a church.
Now, at long last, we want to go to Venice and present a program that – although it is not completely Nurembergensian – represents the final phase of the polychoral Venetian compositorial style. We want to perform a passiontide programme containing a double choir motet by Bach and his motet „Jesu, meine Freude“, putting it into context with Venetian music by Antonio Lotti and Domenico Scarlatti, Bach’s contemporaries. Scarlatti’s „Stabat
Mater“, composed for ten voices with an incredible richness of sound literally surrounding the audience, is the unique culmination of the Venetian polychoral tradition that came into existence 200 years earlier.
Why do we turn to you?
We have long had the desire to come to Venice and to sing this wonderful music at the place of its origin. Unfortunately, we had to postpone this project several times because we lacked the financial resources.

- up to 5 musicians on historical instruments for the continuo group,

- as well as the rental fee for a chest organ

Chi siamo e cosa stiamo cantando?
Siamo il coro CoroCantiamo di Erlangen, (Germania) un piccolo coro da camera, che da molti anni si dedica alla rinascita del collegamento musicale Venezia-Norimberga. Abbiamo già tenuto molti concerti con opere di studiosi franconi-tedeschi a Venezia come Hans Leo Hassler, Johann Staden e i loro maestri veneziani Andrea e Giovanni Gabrieli. Questi compositori sono tutti rappresentanti della polychoral veneziana, i cosiddetti "stile speccato", una musica di diversi cori provenienti da diversi punti di una chiesa.
Ora vogliamo finalmente andare a Venezia con un programma che non è interamente di Norimberga, ma in realtà rappresenta la fase finale dell'elaborazione della policromia veneziana.
Canteremo a Venezia di J. S. Bach mottetti per due cori e suo mottetto "Jesu, meine Freude", come programma di Passioni, e abbiamo intenzione di mettere in dialogo colla musica veneziana, vale a dire da Antonio Lotti e Domenico Scarlatti, contemporanei di Bach. Il 10-voce "Stabat Mater" di Scarlatti nel suo incredibile, sonorità espansiva porta 200 anni prima risultante policoralità veneziana ad un completamento della propria.
Perché ci rivolgiamo a te?
Per molto tempo abbiamo il desiderio di venire a Venezia e cantare questa musica meravigliosa nel suo luogo di origine. Sfortunatamente, abbiamo dovuto posticipare questo progetto più volte perché ci mancavano le risorse finanziarie.
