My name is Wisdom Ngoma, National Tennis Association Tennis Coach United Kingdom. I am currently embarking on a journey through 2018 giving back to my birth place, Zimbabwe's next generation Tennis children.

I was born and raised in a small ghetto suburb called Mufakose, a part of the capital city Harare, Zimbabwe. At the age of 8 my late brother Adam Ngoma introduced me to hockey. I played hockey for three months but I did not enjoy it until a gentleman called Nhamoyebonde came and introduced me to tennis, and I suddenly fell in love with the sport.

Nhamoyebonde would come once a week every Saturday coach us. He gave us a chance to learn this amazing sport though his sponsorships and donations from England. During the week we would play knockouts but we did not have much equipment to use so Mr. Nhamo would leave 2balls and 2 racket to use. If the rackets were to break that would be the end of our session.

We loved the sport so much that we would make DIY rackets with wood or asbestos. We used to draw lines in the streets imitating the tennis court and we enjoyed every moment of it. In schools tennis became popular and more people wanted to take part.

I played my first tournament at the age of 11 in Mufakose which I won. I continued to play tennis and represented my province, Mashonaland and the Country. Slowly things worsened in our country and schools could no longer afford to supply equipment or up keep their sports ground for everyone to play in. I want to that Dr. Nhamoyebonde for giving us a chance and helping me find my passion.

Today I myself live in the UK, I coach tennis to children that are the same age as I was when I started as well as adults. I would love to give back to my community, to give them the same opportunity I was given at their age to find love, passion in a wonderful sport like tennis.
We recently help a 1 day coaching clinic and donated some tennis equipment in September 2018 at Mufakose High 2, in Zimbabwe through donations from well-wishers. Through your support, we therefore want to take up the initiative and resurface the tennis courts and help the less privileged to be able to take up the sport. Feel free to donate any amount. Every little helps from your old tennis racket, tennis balls and old trainers, clothes and tennis nets. #Givingbacktomycommunity #Ngomatennisrefurbishmentorganisation #NTRO
