Send UMN Chess to PanAms

Donation protected
Help send the UMN Chess Club to the 2017 Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championships, taking place in Columbus, Ohio from December 27th to December 30th.

Last year, with the support of the community, we were able to send 10 players to the 2016 Panams in New Orleans.  Our A-Team finished 31/60, and our B-Team finished 49/60.

This year, we will also send 10 players. However, we are projected to send a much stronger team, with an average rating of 1742 this year, compared to 1568 last year.

Thanks to the University of Minnesota Student Services Fee Grant, the University of Minnesota Coca-Cola Activity Grant, and a generous contribution from the Minnesota State Chess Association, we are almost fully funded for the trip.

However, we still need another $1500 to cover the rest of our teams expenses, which includes $800 to for van rental/gas, $600 for food expenses, and $100 for team apparel.

Our team would greatly appreciate any donation to help us return to Panams this year! Any additional funds raised over $1500 will go towards organizing tournaments  and other events for the MN Chess Community, like the 124-player 2017 Golden Gopher Open.

Below is a list of the 10 players who qualified to represent the University of Minnesota at Panams. Note that we have not finalized team breakdown, or board order yet.
