1st UMC Missions (Soup Supper, etc)

First UMC Burlington, or "The Church With The Red Doors," is known throughout the community for providing services, from their Sunday Night Soup Supper, showers for the homeless, and vibrant youth programming, to giving space for meetings to 12-Step groups, music lessons, educational programs, and many others.

Many people have asked how they can be a part of our mission and ministry, especially to our homeless community, and while food is always appreciated and volunteers are never turned away, this campaign is a way for those not in our own community to aid this vitally important work.

In an old building in constant need of updating and repair, we worry about whether we will be able to continue the work we are doing. The kitchen especially needs rewiring, a new stove, more cold storage, and more as our ministry expands. There are also issues of safety in terms of the front steps and the stonework, along with striving to provide access to the building for people of all abilities.
