Faith without works is dead.

Hello, all!

My name is Caitlin Smith I am an upcoming sophomore Psychology major with a concentration in mental health at Spelman College. For me, Spelman was not my dream school, because of the cost.

But, when I received my powered blue acceptance letter with my twin sister I just knew I had to get my shot at experiencing the number  #1 HBCU. With some time I have found, that Spelman is a place that not only accepts me for who I am but a place that celebrates me as well! After working a job while balancing my academics nonstop throughout high school, I knew I deserved to be at the illustrious Spelman College!

So I took that leap of faith.  And after my very first semester at Spelman, I had fallen in love with my institution and I knew then that no obstacle nor barrier will come between me and be attending Spelman.
However,  my new barrier has become struggling to find the money; Since both my sister and I attend Spelman, so my family and I try our best to pay tuition that is multiplied by two.  Plus, as it,  is a struggle for my parents to help pay for our education. As my mother had become unexpectedly unemployed and my father only able to secure a part-time job. And on top of struggling financially, Spelman doesn't offer enough scholarships for their students to remain at Spelman. So I ask anyone who is able and willing to now help me carry on with my sister and I's journey to get our degrees from Spelman.

For me to be able to attend Spelman I would need my last semester's (spring 2017) account balance of 2,200.00 paid off in full in order to successfully register for my classes. I ask anyone who could help rather it be advice, tips, prayers, and money; anything you give to me would be a blessing to me. My goal is to have my account balance paid before registration ends on 25th of August; As I have been unsuccessful with trying to obtain scholarships from Spelman and as well as outside scholarships as well.

I still have hope and I want to thank anyone and everyone who takes time out of their day to read my story. Thank you!
