UK Championships

Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band  are raising funds primarily to enable us to compete in the UK Pipe Band Championships  in Lurgan, NI.

As almost 75% of our band is under 18, this is a great way to build their playing experience, confidence and social interactions. It also promotes the youth of Lanarkshire and surrounding areas is a positive and constructive light. Participation in these national events is also a great mechanism that can positively promote the area and some of the vibrant and inclusive activities that are available.

The membership of the band has almost doubled in the last year and we will be taking around 40 individuals from various financial backgrounds and it is our desire to ease the cost of travel and accommodation as much as possible for this trip. The band is very community orientated and we have several members that are from the same family, so costs can be burden. We try to be self-sufficient, but there is only so far we can go without the assistance from outside sources.

Your support will allow us to continue our teaching and development of young talent in the area. Attending contests and championships is a fundamental building block of this process and the commitment levels from all that are involved are testament to the value that we put on every penny that is received in donations.
