Dear friends of Heidi and Adam (including the amazing Bosom Buddies ),
Would you like to make a donation to help Heidi's recovery from breast cancer?
Heidi has just had her final chemo treatment and is in the middle of nasty chemo side effects (though she's feeling better each day). It has been a hard slog, but she is getting through it with good spirit and stoicism! As a family, they are doing a heroic job of navigating this extremely challenging time in their lives. However she still has to face surgery, radiotherapy and a long recovery process including hormone therapy for 5-10 years after the radiotherapy, as well as frequent checkups and scans.
She'll get test results next week which will decide the extent of her surgery.
If we as their friends and family can rally together and donate some money to help make this phase easier for them it would be really wonderful. It would be very important practical help, and perhaps even more important solidarity for them.
What they need most is good food, practical help, and lots of love. They also really need something lovely to look forward to. So if we really do well, we could help send them on holiday once they've got through all of this.
We can also help by giving them:
Nutritional supplements, plus essential groceries such as organic fruit and veg (it's amazing how cancer adds to the household spend in all sorts of ways)
Complementary healthcare such as specialist Oncology Massages
Support with travel costs to and from hospital appointments
Travel, food and expenses to attend the Young Women Together cancer network event in Bristol
Of course, these are just suggestions, and it will be completely up to Heidi and Adam how they spend any money we raise - they'll know best where the money needs to be spent. Having cancer creates a lot of new expenses, and also creates a loss of income, so this could be a fantastic booster for them. This funding page isn't dependent on a target - whatever money you give will go straight to them, whether or not we reach the stated target.
