Prayers for Pat!

On April 11th, just after midnight, Pat experienced a life changing event. She suffered her first seizure. Thankfully her son Chris was there to call 911, and she was ambulanced to Trios in Kennewick. From Trios she was transferred to Lourdes Medical Center, where she suffered a grand mal seizure lasting over 8 minutes.
It was discovered that the cause of the seizures was a meningioma (brain tumor, most likely non-cancerous) measuring at almost 5 cm.
On the evening of April 11th Pat was transferred by plane to Harborview in Seattle, where she was admitted to Neurosurgery ICU.
Her first procedure occurred on April 17th. This was an angiogram and endovascular embolization to cut off blood flow to the tumor in attempt to minimize bleeding during surgery. Resection (removal of the tumor) was performed on April 18th.
Pat hasn’t been dealt an easy hand. Currently she is under 24/7 care. There is a long journey to recovery ahead of her, but anyone that knows her knows that she’s a fighter! There is no doubt that she will come out on top of this challenge, just as she has every other over the years.
We all know that Pat has always been the person to take care of everyone, without hesitation. With that said, it’s our turn to lift her up. Any positive thoughts, prayers, good juju, etc. is greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop when tragedy hits, so any financial support is welcomed as well. All donations will be put to good use toward monthly expenses while she is unable to work. Any remaining resources will be put toward the many medical expenses incurred during her hospital stays.
The next step will be a transfer from Harborview to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, where she will receive Inpatient Rehabilitation to restore cognitive and motor function. I will keep this site updated and let everyone know when this happens, as I’m sure she would love to see any visitors. We all know how social she is!
