We are the new Temple Owlette dance team at Temple University. Our goal is to promote self-awareness, and confidence through the style of majorette dancing, to the community and ourselves. Since we just started, there are many things that still need to get done. Beginning a new team takes time, effort and money. With these, we will ensure we will become a greater team.
In order for us to become a greater and bigger team, we have to look the part. That means we need costumes. For a dance team like us, costumes are extremely big because it defines our look. An average costume costs $70-$200. But multiply that by 25! That’s just costumes. We still have practices and training that happen and includes money as well.
Aside from the costumes, training, and competitions, all of our members attend this university. This university is not cheap! With that said, many of us do not have the funds to go out our way to buy all the costumes and supplies we need for this dance team. In order for our dance team to flourish, we need as much help as possible. We stick together as members to help each other, we can't afford to have a member dropout!
