The Alaska Process Industry Careers Consortium (APICC) is raising money for the KPC & UAF Troubleshooting Teams. Three Alaskan teams from KPC (Kenai Peninsula College - both the Anchorage Extension Site and the Kenai River Campus) and UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks) are planning to travel to the 2017 National Troubleshooting Competition in Houston, Texas on April 21-22.
The Troubleshooting Competition showcases troubleshooting skills as they solve problems associated with process equipment and systems.
In 2012, the Anchorage-based team won 1st place in the National Competition.
Last year, teams from Alaska took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Let's help them bring back the gold this year.
The National Troubleshooting Competition invites teams from across the country. However, teams must pay their own travel.
Which is why APICC is asking you to give a few dollars to help these college students compete at the national level again.
What will the money be used for?
We are asking for $20,000 to cover the cost of travel from Alaska to Texas. Airfare, room, and board for three students on three teams (KPC Kenai River Campus, KPC Anchorage Extension Campus, and UAF CTC) and one coach for each team. Any money raised over the initial goal will be rolled over to be used next year.
