All we want is a baby bump to make us Three!
It’s always hard asking for help, but when you have a dream that you want to become a reality you do everything humanly possible to make it happen.

I’m talking about the dream of becoming parents, something many take for granted or not really think about. For some of us it’s a little harder to achieve than others as we are faced with hurdles, many of you are not faced with. Now for us there's one major issue…. We are a gay couple who cannot conceive on our own... who would have thought right?
Let us introduce ourselves I’m Jamey and my partner of 5 years is Ben. We live in beautiful Perth, Western Australia. It was pretty much love at first sight, cliché right… and we decided to build a life together. First came meeting the in-laws, then moving in with each other. Next came a puppy we called Sasha our first “major responsibility” as a couple. Finally we decided we needed a place of our own, so we took the big leap and built our very first house. It was at this point we started talking about becoming parents and the joys fatherhood will bring us. Three years on and our house is feeling a bit empty and we want to make it a home, and our journey towards becoming fathers began.
After doing many hours of re-search looking into foster care, adoption in Australia, overseas, and surrogacy in our home country we found so many road blocks to do with laws etc. decided by people who don’t know us and probably don’t know anyone in our situation that left us feeling hopeless. That’s when we found out about surrogacy overseas and particular in California, which made it a lot easier and safer for us to finally become Dads!
We have been in contact with surrogacy agencies and have found the perfect egg donor and gestational surrogate. However, the cost of testing, medicines, implantation and egg retrieval is expensive to say the least about…. $120,000-$150,000 USD for the whole treatment. I know we fell off our computer chairs when we found out too. And then comes travel costs to America on top. So everyday bills, the mortgage etc. can make saving extremely difficult, especially such a large sum.
We both have full time jobs and have the love and support of our families. Raising our baby financially isn't going to be a problem; it's starting a family in the first place that is challenging.
We know you are all faced with them same everyday expenses as us. But many hearts can make light work of even the biggest tasks. So any donation big or small would be hugely appreciated.
