Bring Paul Briggs Home
Paul Briggs, friend, Ranger, and champion of the underdog, passed away August 22nd, 2015 at the cruelly young age of 37. If you knew Paul, you knew that he would give the literal shirt off his back to anyone in need. It was truly heroic in word and in deed. In our gaming lives, Paul most often played characters with depth and interest, and he roleplayed his ass off. No one loved a well-crafted story more than he.
Now, we gamers have a chance to in some small way give back to our friend. Paul's family is in Texas, and Paul is waiting in Chicago to be brought home. Please help his family with transportation and funeral costs. Be the hero he was; please help. Every little bit you can spare will concretely help his family in this difficult time.
I have already turned over control of this fundraiser to Paul's mom, so she can request the funds herself. Thank you to each and every one of you heroic folks; if there is a good thing from all of this, it's the reminder that there is a wide network of love and caring, and Paul touched a lot of lives with his special brand of kindness and enthusiasm.
To all of Paul’s friends and online family: Words cannot begin to express our thanks for the support and show of love for Paul. We will be forever grateful that with your help we have been able to focus on our family and spend our time and energies caring for each other. We want to let all of you know that we plan a celebration for Paul on October 16 in Austin Texas. It is something that we feel Paul would have liked. When we have the location set we will let everyone know, we are looking for a park area around Lake Travis perhaps. In the meantime, myself, Paul’s brother and sister, give our heartfelt thanks.
