Frank's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
My brother Frank DelCid passed away on April 28th, 2015 at the young age of 33. Over the past two years he battled Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma).  He seemed to be doing  well, but he developed pneumonia and his body was unable to fight the infection.

Frank struggled the past 5 years or so with many personal issues and his stubbornness and pride wouldn't allow him to accept much help from anyone.  Sometimes it was easier to not reach out and  to just think that we could always try next time to make things right.  Over the past 2 years we did try, but I just wish I had more time. My mom always wanted things to be good between her 3 kids. She always told us to say I love you because we never know what could happen and she was right.

I'm hurting because my older brother is gone and there are so many things I wish I could change.  I will never get see what he looks like when he gets old. He will never get to see his daughter or nieces and nephews grow up. Worst of all.. I can't imagine the pain that my parents are going through. No parent should ever have to lose a child. Being a parent myself, I just can't imagine the pain they feel.

I've tried to help my parents as much as I can with all the funeral expenses, but I'm trying to raise 3 kids. 5 years ago I took custody of my niece (now 10) and my nephew (now 6). I also have a daughter of my own that is almost 3.  I'm going to continue to help my parents out as much as possible because I feel like most parents don't plan for the death of their own child. I just don't want them to have to worry about money in this time of grief.

Asking for help is not something that people in my family do very well and this is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done.

I hope that no one ever has to experience pain and loss like this. I do however know that death is a part of life and I just hope everyone remembers to be loving, kind and forgive.

Thank you,

Misty Albert (DelCid)
