JT's Journey

On Sept 10, 2016, Kelsey Cox and Jacobe Higgs, 7 month old son, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He's being treated at Duke University Hospital. This is his story.

It was a long journey for this sweet baby but after a long hard fight JT was in remission.

On February 28, 2017, Kelsey and Jacobe received the most gut wrenching news, "the leukemia is back" and it's aggressive.

Once again, through a new trial drug, JT was able to reach remission. We received the news of remission on May 16th, but just 3 days later after a few scans, we learned that his leukemia had now formed tumors in his sinuses, his chest cavity and on his spine. This news was followed by the words, "there's nothing more we can do." His leukemia is just too aggressive but our sweet boy has put up the best fight and is the bravest 17 month old I know. Our goal now is to keep him comfortable until he passes, which could be any day now. The money we raise will go towards hhis funeral and whatever bills we have accumulated.
