Hi Everyone!
My name is Carol, and I am the mother of two sons, Will, 26, and Scott, 22. The three of us live with an incurable neuromuscular disorder called Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Among other things, it affects our balance, strength and our mobility.
A few days ago, my younger son, Scott, was diagnosed with a Grade III Astrocytoma. This is a serious brain tumour that needs to be treated with Radiation and maybe Chemotherapy. The tumour has already made a bad situation worse. Scott now needs a cane to walk, and the tumour has affected his dexterity on his left side, and his memory.
I just graduated from college and am currently unemployed. Where I live now, it’s very difficult to find a decent job, especially if you’re not someone important, well known or if you’re someone with a disability. If I’m able to receive employment, it would be difficult to keep it since I’ll be going back and forth to Thunder Bay for Scott’s treatments.
I am humbly asking for your finanial support to assist us in our travels and the costs of living.
