u18 Rugby Canada Tour

My name is Brayden Gray. I’m a grade 12 student at Ottawa's St Peter Catholic High School and I was recently selected to play rugby for Team Canada.

Playing rugby at the national level has been my dream for as long as I can remember. This dream became a reality when I was recently selected to represent Canada on the u18 men's team as they travel to play in Phoenix, Arizona in December.

Getting to the national level has not been easy. I've spent many hours travelling for tryouts and training camps, and I competed provincially at the Canadian Rugby Championships in Calgary last summer.

Playing representative rugby in Canada is pay-to-play, and I've managed to fund myself so far largely through my summer job.

However, competing for Canada will cost approximately $3,000 more by the end of December, which is more than I can afford to pay for myself.

My hope is that my parents will assist me in covering some of my costs for this opportunity, but I would greatly appreciate any support that the rugby community could provide me as I play the sport I love for the country I love.
