Milea-Jo's Miracle Operation

Milea-jo was born premature at only 27 weeks and 2 days, being 13 weeks early and weighing a tiny 2lbs 3oz. Unfortunately an MRI scan showed that Milea-jo had suffered severe brain damage and at the age of 1 was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Because of this all four of her limbs are affected with tightness and Milea is unable to walk.

Milea-Jo cannot walk and is only able to sit up in a persisted right position. Milea-Jo currently requires intensive physio, hydrotherapy treatment and 5ml baclfon three times a day to help with the increased tone in her muscles. Milea has also had 3 sets of botox injections in her legs however these are only temporary and only last 6 months. 

Milea-Jo is a loving, outgoing little girl and does indeed love life which is evident from her winning smile, infectious laughter and overpowering charm. However, Milea-Jo relies on her mum for everday activities such as getting dressed, washed and going to the toliet. This also makes it hard for Milea to take part in social events and playing. 

Milea-Jo is now 6 years old and has been accepted to have selective Dorsal Rhizotomy at Alderhey Children’s hospital. However, this is not available on the NHS and the cost is £16,000 this operation would make Mileas life a lot easier as it will allow her to be comfortable and her muscles to relax. Unfortunately Milea cannot have this operation until the funds are raised, we are hoping this can be done by August and are asking for your help to do this.
