Time off to take care of hubby

My husband suffered a major heart attack from which he is still struggling to survive. He has been intubated and sedated for three weeks now and will be receiving a tracheostomy. Being that I am the sole provider in our home, I have taken a family leave but am not receiving any other income, other than my saved funds and help from friends and family. Unfortunately, the timing is also stressful because it's taking me into summer, when I will receive no income at all, because I work for the Board of Education. So realizing that I will most likely have exhausted all my funds,  and not knowing how long this will go on, I have come to the decision that I need help. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Thank you in advance from my heart and my husband's heart.

Ok. This is going to be my last post on the Gofundme page. I thank everyone that has helped from the bottom of my heart and soul. Without your help I really don't know what I would have or could have done. Well there is one, and that is always my last resort. I went that route once before and it before and it didn't work out too great. (Separate story if you're interested. ) ;)

There is one more month to go before going back to work, and I am seriously scrapping by. I am pretty good at being frugal, and that really helps, but I am at the bottom of the pot now. So this is my last humble plea.

Tony is still having his therapies and regular Dr. appointments. The therapies will continue until mid September. Things there are definitely getting better, thank goodness, but still a long road ahead. Lots of self discipline and self motivation after that. Team work all the way.

Again I want to thank everyone for ALL their prayers and good thoughts. They really got me through this. I say me, because my hubby, thankfully, doesn't remember any of it from before the end of June. He doesn't even remember taking out the garbage or going to the hospital that morning. I guess that's a great thing. It's pretty fresh in my mind though. :/ Uuuuuugh. Time should help with that I hope.

Please remember that I love you ALL very much. I am so glad to have kind people like you in our lives. Stay wonderful, keep smiling and be blessed.

P.S. Remember that I have an Etsy shop as well. That is also a great way to help, and you get something in return. ;)

PEACE & LOVE to all.

Well, I now have my hubby home, thank goodness. It is distressing what all that medication does to your body. My poor guy has uncontrollable shaking in his hands, he's exhausted because he can't sleep, and his stomach is constantly hurting. It's very difficult to have therapy when you are running on zero sleep.

I am giving him Melatonin to help bring back to his normal sleep cycle. I researched all the meds he's getting and found the culprit to the sleep deprivation. Of course it's an anti-depressant. Why is it that medication always seems to have the side effects opposite of what they are treating. Goodbye to that medication. We're taking a natural route.

Now that we're home it's time to work on strengthening and becoming healthy again. So far we have gone for a few short walks, because he gets tired so easily, but it's only been a few days. We probably won't be biking this summer, but that's OK, there will be more to come.

Our love and hearts go out to all the remarkable people that have touched our lives. We love you ALL. I hope you have a wonderful summer. Please love one another every moment.

Finally huge progress!!

We are back at Illinois Masonic where Tony will be getting intense therapy . This will cover physical, cognitive, occupational and speech. He will be good as new before we know it. Hopefully this is the last stop before heading home.

It was right after they put a stop to ALL the medication that he finally started coming back. It was very difficult at first. He was very confused, and was having mostly long term memory, but with constant communication from family (mostly me...man can I talk!) he finally started making sense of things. It was and still is of course hard to handle to lost time. But we are doing it.

When I told him about ALL the support we have gotten and all the prayers and well wishes everyone was sending him, he became very emotional and , of course, was very concerned about how to make it up to everyone. I told him we will say "Thank You", and he can continue to give out his hugs. Lol. That made him happy.

As I have said before there truly are no words to describe the gratitude we feel for every single one of you. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!

A bit of 2 cent philosophy from me.....
After sitting day after day and watching my husband, I came to realize even more, how amazing our bodies are. Our body will do whatever it has to do to heal itself. We need to get in touch with our mind and body, and listen, because it will definitely tell you when something is wrong. I also witnessed how every single cell in our body is interconnected. I am now even MORE amazed and fascinated with the human brain. :D

Stay safe everyone. Much love and Peace to you ALL. <3 <3
Watch out world, we're almost back.
Making the most of his stay.

Surgery went well. Moving on to RML. Still pretty medicated. I have not really been able to communicate with "Tony" yet. Hopefully this place can help move the weaning process a little better. I just want to be able to communicate with him. Everyone tells me that he will not remember any of this, which is a good thing. I know I will remember for the both of us.

Thank you ALL for the prayers and for keeping us in your thoughts. For now I will just keep up the hope and the fight. :D
