Total Loss due to Fire

Donation protected
As some of you know, on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at approximately 7:00 PM my husband & I received a phone call from my daughter that our house was on fire.  We were on our way home from Humble, TX and about 45 minutes away. Upon arrival, firemen were still spraying foam and attempting to cool several “hot spots” in our home.  Thankfully no one was hurt except for our dearest family pet of 9 years; my sweet baby cat, Doore. She will be greatly missed and even though she was mean and temperamental, she was my sweet baby.

We have been so overwhelmed and humbled by the love and support from our friends, family and total strangers! We will never be able to thank everyone enough for their love and concern! The Livingston Fire Department went above and beyond for me and my family! They searched the house until they found my sweet Doore and even placed her at rest for me. While risking their own lives, the firemen removed pictures, keys, and many family mementos/sentimental items that would have been irreplaceable!   Thank You soooo very much for the sacrifice and risks you take on a daily basis to protect the families of our community! You are ALL True Hero’s in our eyes!!!

There were people who came to be by mine and my families side during this event that I can NEVER thank enough for being there for me and my family!

Since the event, we have had countless people ask us what do we need?, how they can help?, and what can they do?, etc. My thought was this; right now, I know I will need so much once insurance has settled and we can figure out the next step. The house was still owned by a relative that had the home underinsured.  The insurance policy will not provide the funds necessary to rebuild.  So, as humbling and overwhelming as this moment is in our lives; we are truly seeing that tragedy and loss truly does bring out the BEST in people!  Our community family, friends, and neighbors have expressed a sincere and compassionate desire to help us during this difficult chapter in our lives.

We decided to create this fundraiser for those that wish to help. The donation or gifting of household items and clothing are very much appreciated; however, these items are difficult to process at this time since we will be residing in a small travel trailer on the property for the foreseeable future.  Currently, we have no way of storing gifted items/furniture and will probably not have a secure, climate-controlled environment to preserve them in for several months. Our greatest need at this time is the demolition and cleanup of the remaining structure and funds to aid in the rebuilding of our home.  Again, we ARE grateful & appreciative of ANY & ALL support during this tragic time, but the rebuilding of our home is our primary focus at this time. That said, we have been encouraged by both close friends & family to open this account.

It is AGAINST our nature to do something like this, but should you wish to donate and help us rebuild our home, we WILL NOT forget the kindness or generosity of those that can. For those that read this and are unable to donate; we welcome your thoughts and prayers during these trying times for those are truly PRICELESS.  My family and I can never put into words our appreciation and gratitude for all the love and support we have received in these last few days nor can we ever Thank You enough!!!  God Bless You each and Everyone!!!
