First and foremost, THANK YOU for taking the time to learn our story. Also for any and all donations. Your generosity is appreciated more than words could ever express.
Everything started in October of 2014 when Nick went in for scheduled Gallbladder surgery. The doctor saw some "old blood" where it should not have been. He told us to wait the 6 weeks for Nick to heal from the successful Gallbladder surgery, come back in, and he would run a camera to Nick's stomach to see what was going on. However the next day, we were back at the doctors for his excruciating pain. Nick's surgeon decided that he could NOT wait the 6 weeks for recovery and ran a camera down that day.
The first tumor was found. Stomach Cancer. Surgery was scheduled, performed, and successful! 5 weeks of chemo/radiation brought us a clear PET scan in May 2015!! Finally, we thought, we could get on with living and enjoying our grandchildren again...
Then, a scan in November 2015 showed that the cancer had returned on Nick's liver and left kidney. From there he had rib pain that was steadily getting worse. Early December brought him back to the ER where a scan showed a mass on his pancreas that was shutting down his liver.
As you can read, his cancer has come back with a vengeance. As of December 2015 Nick was given 10-12 months if he does chemo, less if he chooses not to. He is on his first set of 4 treatments and we find out if it is working when he finishes. Nick is unable to work, the bills are piling up, and having one income can only stretch so far. Donations would be used towards medical care and end-of-life expenses. Any and all forms of donations are greatly appreciated and would set my and Nick's mind at ease a little to know that things will be taken care of while we focus on taking care of him.
