HELP Taiwan be represented at the 2018 New York Gay Pride Parade, coming up on June 24th!
Let Taiwan be represented again in this year’s New York Pride Parade and continue to push for civil code amendments after Taiwan’s high court made the historic ruling to legalized same-sex marriage in 2017. It has been a hard won battle but continued to be a uphill fight due to the stall in Taiwan's legislature.
This year, the Taipei Cultural Center (Ministry of Culture) has also invited several film directors to share their LGBT themed movies in New York (LINK ). We were going to invite actors from the movie "Alifu" to join us on the parade but unfortunately they are not available in that time frame (So the total amount has been lowered)
Also, we want everyone to know that Taiwan also hosts Asia’s largest gay pride parade annually. So let’s make sure that Taiwan participates in this year’s New York Gay Pride Parade and spread the message!
Last year, with the help of many generous donors like you, we were able to pay for a real float(As suppose to a handmade one in 2016) and invited activist Chi Chia-Wei to come to New York(Apple Daily News ).
This year, we continue to celebrate the fact that Taiwan is on the forefront of same-sex rights in Asia and push for civil code amendments! We need your help even more than ever before to make it happen this year!
