Turning ashes into hope
Donation protected
Currently catastrophic out-of-control bushfires are happening along east coast of Australia. It is estimated that hundreds of koalas have been burnt to death -the species may land on the endangered species list- and it will take months after the fires to rescue dehydrated and under nourished animals due to loss of habitat and food resources.
Bushfires in Australia are part of the ecosystem but this year conditions are anormally catastrophic (NSW declared a state of emergency) and may be a result of climate change. I’ve been in Australia for almost five months now, some mornings in Sydney the sky isn’t blue anymore but grey, covered by smoke. I feel very touched by the nature I’ve loved here that is now burning down.
The funds gathered here will be split into diverse organizations offering breeding programs to recover koalas colonies and release them into the wild, rescue injured animals or develop strategies for their rehabilitation in a destroyed habitat.
You can start to donate now. Please share the link for funds rising and spread the information. Let people know what is happening. And then maybe we can turn ashes into hope.
