My name is cCalvin and I live in Washington, DC. I have been accepted to Archbishop Carroll High School in DC and need help raising money for my tuition.
I am really excited to be given this opportunity to attend such a great school and one that will help me to keep growing in my faith in God. I hope to play football (Greenbay Packers are my favorite team) and get involved in some of the service activities that Carroll offers.
The school has given me a $3,000.00 scholarship but I need $10,000 more to be able to attend. It is just me and my mom, and she works very hard to take care of me. Some of my family members have said they will pitch in but it won't be enough. I need to raise the money by September 1st.
There are very few good choices for High School in Washington, DC and my neighborhood school is rated the second worst in the city for academic achievement. Only 24% of the students are proficient in Math.
I don't want that to be my story and that is one reason why attending Archbishop Carroll would be like a dream come true for me. Not only will it give me a great academic environment but also set me on the right path for success in college.
I have been very focused on doing well in school so that I could earn a chance at a better education and I don't want to miss out on attending Archbishop Carroll because of money.
