Help with Tubby's Medical Bills

Donation protected
I have known Michael and his boys for a long time and ever since I have, they have wanted a boxer to join their family. Back in December 2015, I was perusing Facebook and noticed that a friend of mine happened to be fostering an amazing sweet boxer, named Tubby who was rescued from an awful situation. Tubby was rescued from a puppy mill in Montana and when she was found, she had a basketball size tumor in one of her glands from feeding all the puppies she was forced to give birth to. It is estimated that in her 5 short years, Tubby gave birth to over 300 puppies.

When Tubby got to her foster moms house, she was in awful shape  and miserable but she still had a special light in her eyes. Just 2 short days after her surgery to remove her tumor, Tubby had bounced back and was doing amazing! The intial biopsy of the tumor showed that it was benign.....even more good news for this special girl.

I knew that Tubby was the perfect dog for Michael's little family and told him all about her and showed him pictures. Michael fell in love with her instantly and immediately reached out to Northwest Boxer Rescue  to see about adopting her. When Michael finally met Tubby, he just knew that she was meant to be their fur baby.

A few days before Tubby was scheduled to go to her new home, her foster mom found out that the tumor was actually malignant. The vet said that they were able to get it all though so Tubby was still cancer-free! Tubby's foster mom was concerned that Michael might be hesitant to adopt Tubby because of the cancer. Being a 2 time survivor himself, Michael knew that Tubby deserved the best possible life she could have and adopted her anyway. Tubby settled right in and quickly fell into a routine at her new forever home!

Sadly, a few days ago Tubby started coughing and then began coughing up blood. Michael rushed her to the vet and after an x-ray found out that her cancer was back. Tubby has 3 spots on her lungs and a lump where her original tumor was. Michael is meeting with an oncologist later this week to find out the prognosis and develop a treatment plan. He is a single dad so he is unsure that he will actually be able to provide her the treatment she needs.

He has already reached out to the rescue and a few other resources for help but I started this page to help with additonal fundraising for this sweet girl. She deserves the chance to lead a happy healthy normal life. Please give what you can to help with Tubby's treatment and care. Let's all work together to get Tubby healthy for her 2 young humans!
