Save Archangel Michael Church of Albania

Donation protected
Built on 1785, the Archangel Michael  Orthodox Church in Lushnje, Albania, was pillaged and ruined during ottoman conquest of Albania.

It was reconstructed on 1927 and demolished again during the communist dictatorship and used as vegetables storage.

It was rebuilt on 1996 after the fall of the communist regime.

It is the only church of the local Christian Orthodox community and also serves as a recreational and educational center for the youth of the locality.

It is unique in the entire region, because of the frescoes and the Albanian language description used on them.

Today, due to lack of funds for maintenance, the church is about to crumble. Recent heavy rains, completely destroyed her roof and because of this, even the ancient and unique frescoes are being damaged.

It costs a lot to revitalize the frescoes, but the most immediate to fix is the 300 square meters roof that will prevent the entire building from falling apart.

The entire community need your help to fix the roof and save the Church.

I will keep updating the whole project by uploading videos and pics from the site.

May God bless You!
