June 18th Lives Were Changed

Hearts were broken and innocent lives were forever changed.

Sometimes you can hit a speed bump in life or even have a roadblock put in front of you. But there are other times when something so devastating happens that it destroys and shatters lives leaving only pieces behind. On June 18th three individuals with cold-hearted , selfish and ruthless actions did exactly that by hurting innocent people, families, and 4 innocent rescue dogs.

Thomas Tenney is considered by many “a legend” in the comic book and music industry for 30+ years. He has given of himself in many capacities to share his talent with the world. But Thomas is also known for his big heart and generosity. He has taught young aspiring talent in music and art, supporting independent artists and companies, giving to charities, and bringing together the art communities wherever he lived. He never forgets his roots, the people that helped him or his fans and he has never asked for anything in return. Thomas is an advocate for animal rights and rescued 4 dogs he loves like his children.

Mary is a struggling nursing student with a big heart and advocate for women’s rights. She began working with Thomas in early 2017 as a co-creator and model for new projects. Her job with Thomas became essential to afford her schooling.

Anna David, a single mother of 4 children, also began working with Thomas in early 2017. Her job supported herself and her children while she looked for work to stay afloat.

Thomas had been teaching Mary and Anna the ropes to attend conventions around Texas with him.

On June 18th lives were forever changed.

While attending a convention in Austin, Thomas left his dogs, his home and priced belongings to the care of his longtime girlfriend and assistant. Things seemed to be going along fine with no indication of the heinous acts that were about to take place. As the convention came to a close, Thomas along with Mary and Anna, packed up to make the trip home. Before leaving, he called his assistant to say they were on their way but there was no answer. Thinking there might only be a problem with the phone he waited and tried again and again for hours. Something was wrong. As Thomas, Mary and Anna arrived they were shocked at what they found and to this day it is hard to believe. There was a note on the door saying that Thomas’ long-time companion had taken everything. They heard dogs crying and howling, and instantly entered the home to find that this cruel person had torn off the A/C and left no water or food for the dogs. It was 95° in the home and they had no idea how long it had been that way. Thomas heard another cry and found his Australian Cattledog that had been put into a 4’x2’ room and boxed in with no food or water. He also found that his beloved Chihuahua, Sugar, that he rescued was gone. Thomas’ original works of art and art supplies were gone along with the art Mary and Anna had worked on and counted on to be sold to support themselves.

This despicable act took away Thomas’ means of supporting himself and the home was left unlivable and condemned. Thomas, an artist who had unselfishly trusted and gave everything to someone he loved was and is completely devastated and betrayed. This person’s actions have hurt and traumatized innocent animals. Thomas is now trying to get justice while trying to make it day by day. His along with Mary and Anna’s lives have been completely changed and the pieces are nearly impossible to pick up.

We need you: Thomas has been living without the means to continue his career and has his dogs staying with friends. To him it’s like having children far from his care. Thomas was just about to start on something important to charities and help the lives of many. This act of a thief has done serious damage and harm that were not sure anyone affected will fully recover.

Mary was counting on her work with Thomas to pay for her schooling and now that is in jeopardy. Anna has only found part-time work that barely feeds her family and pays the bills.

We need you and your help so that Thomas can legally get justice, get supplies, a place to live, and be re-united with his pets. To help Mary remain in school and continue her work with Thomas. For Anna to help her kids and stay afloat.
