Hello everybody
My name is Amber Padua and I am 12 years old and have been a member of the Tang Soo Do Karate Association since September 2012. I first joined the East London branch with my uncle and cousins and from the first taster session I became hooked and loved the dedication, determination and discipline it has taught me over the years. I enjoy attending the training sessions twice a week on a Monday and Thursday evening, on top of my studies.
During this time I have worked my way up from a white belt and recently attained my black belt in July this year, which was a very proud moment in my life and also for my parents and family. I will shortly be competing at my first European Championships in Rotterdam in October and my lifetime dream is to then compete at next year's World Championships in North Carolina, USA.
In addition to these amazing events I have also taken part in the Regional and National Championships in the last three years, where I have seen my confidence, skills and talent improve and where I have successfully won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the various categories. I also attend regular monthly senior class sessions in Huntingdon, Cambridge. Above all, I am happy to have made so many new friends across the country, which I look upon as my extended family.
The trip to North Carolina, USA is not going to be cheap and in order to make this happen I will need your help and support and ask if you could kindly help in raising funds towards my flights, accommodation and championship fees to help me fulfill my dream.
