Trudy Brinser's Cancer Fund

My nana has always been a healthy, positive individual. In 2014 she was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. Although treatments were difficult both mentally and physically she persevered and the cancer went into remission. In those several months of receiving chemo, she continued to have a positive outlook on life. December 6, 2016 changed everything. An emergency room visit for something we thought to be minor turned into our family finding out devastating news. My nana’s breast cancer has traveled to her lymph nodes, bones, sternum, brain and is surrounding several organs.

It has been almost a month since we received this diagnosis and it is something that hasn’t been easy. With a multitude of medical tests, it had been discovered that her blood is too thin and liver function is too weak, so doctors have determined that she is not physically strong enough to receive chemotherapy at this time. With the brain being a vital organ, she has received 10 rounds of radiation. Her cognitive ability has been affected from the lesions on her brain, making it difficult to do daily tasks on her own. She has become weak and took a fall resulting in 6 staples to her head. My nana's sister Silvia has been with her to take care of her, but she has to return to work. Josh, my mom, and I will be working around the clock to make sure she is not alone.  Until my nana regains her strength she will need care 24 hours a day.

With my nana being unable to work, the bills, and medical expenses are beginning to build up. We are unsure of the future and what other expenses she may incur. All proceeds will be put towards these expenses.
