My name is Jordan. In 2014 I got done with my 8 years in the Marine Corps. My time as an Infantryman as well as an Infantry Combat Instructor took its toll in more ways than one. In January of 2017 I had surgery for a condition called Popitiel Atery Entrapment. Bascially from repetitive trauma my muscles formed a vice grip like effect on the arteries in my leg so I had little to no blood flow. the recovery time was supposed to be about 2 months to being back to 100% but things took a different turn. My leg has severe chronic pain, it is 3 times the size of the other one and I face a high risk of blood clots and DVT on a constant basis. Even while sleeping my leg loses all sensation and i have to physically work on even just moving my toes. Since there is little information on this condition I have been fighting with the VA the last 7 months on bebefits for this, even to the point of having to get in contact with my congressman and use their aide. Becuase of the severity that is going on and talking to many many medical professionals we are moving forward with an above the knee amputation. I have daily battles of severe axienty among other things. And this process is both physically and mentally draining not only for me but as well as my family. I spend alot alot of time going back and forth to Milwaukee and Madison for appointments and alot of time off of work becuase of this issue. I try my best to do everything i can for my family but sometimes life knocks you down.
My wife, son, family and friends have really been there for me on many fronts. One of the things that really is pushing me through this though is a quote that may sound dumb but is true in many aspects.
"To Stupid Too Quit" by Derek Weida
I take this quote to have meaning like this...
We all have choices we make in life, those choices have 2 outcomes. You succeed or you fail. But failure is not the end. When failure is presented you have to continue to push for that thing you want the most. Life will knock you down and beat and kick you while you're there laying in the dirt. But to get back up and keep fighting and keep pushing yourself, that mentality is the key!
"To Stupid Too Quit."
This is a long road that I am on and the end goal is to have that better quality of life so i can play with my son and run along side of him. So i can sleep in peace, so when my wife asks me to help, i can get out of my chair without agonizing pain. and take those strolls down the street with her. All the things i used to take for granted.

Thank you for your help big or little. It all means alot.

So I have an above the knee amputation scheduled for November 16th. It’s been nearly 10 months since the first surgery and the battle pursues with the VA. Even though their surgery back in January has caused this outcome they have still have yet to accept it was service connected originally or aggravated by military service. Both of which allow for compensation and benefits. The VA Madison and UW Madison hospital is where the surgery will he preformed. Recovery is going to be a rough road ahead and I want to thank everyone for everything they have done so far. I am still asking for help and shares with everything we are about to go through as the VA is my health care. There is no long term disability no added hikes in disability pay and I have no idea how we are going to do this. But we pray and pray often for answers and help.

Just over 2,000$ dollars everyone! That's amazing to see all the love and support and shares over the last 2 weeks! You have no idea what this means to my family and me. Hopefully by the end of this, I'll be able to get into a center like Mayo Clinic or get the answers and results that come out on top! No matter what, you have to be "To Stupid Too Quit!" (By Derek Weida) And I'm never going to stop this fight! To have an outcome that puts my quality of life on top and have a chance again to be the person I was before this started!! Thank you again!

Funny how you were plenty fit to serve for 8 years. My son is a Vet with 2 tours in IZ. Sorry about your loss. You all deserve so much better.
