Trisha's fight for survival

Trisha's FUN-draising for her fight for survival.  Thank you all for taking the time to visit this GoFundMe page!!!

Over the past 8 years, my auntie Trish has battled with cancer. Most of you may be familiar with her journey but for those who aren't...

In January 2011, she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer (this meant that it had spread to the lymph nodes, which potentially meant the disease could now travel throughout the body ). At this point, she
had the conventional NHS treatments of surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. Following multiple surgeries including two bilateral breast reconstructions and further hormone therapies, she was then diagnosed with stage four breast cancer (there is no stage five); the cancer had spread to her lung. She then went on to have further hormone treatment and took part in a clinical trial. This kept things stable for over a year! Unfortunately, although she seemed to be thriving and looked really well during the trial, six weeks ago, she received the devastating news that the cancer had spread to the liver and the spine. This was a massive shock to the family as she always looks fabulous and continues to be so positive! As if that wasn't bad enough, for the past six weeks, she has been in acute pain and has now found a new lump on her right breast. She has had biopsies done and is due to get the results this Thursday.  Although in her heart, she knows it will be confirmed as cancer, she's not ready to give up without a fight. If you'd like to find out more about her journey from her own perspective,please follow this link.

Since the secondary diagnosis, she has looked to combine alternative, holistic and conventional approaches, going down an integrative path, along with moving to mainly organic food and juicing (Following the Gerson therapy diet)The reason for this is to treat the body as a whole in order to heal in all areas of 'mind, body, spirit'.  This leads me onto describing how all of you lovely people can help make this a reality for her. The Arcadia Clinic in Germany takes on the integrative approach and provides;

 ‘A personalized treatment protocol for your unique physical, biological and personal needs.’ Arcadia Clinic.

The intensive combination of treatments re-programme the body’s immune system, the core focus for stage three and four patients is to keep the cancer growth under control and teach the patient to thrive with it. These treatments are well-researched and have proved to be very effective. However, a stay at the clinic and the treatments come with high costs. This could possibly be a last resort for her after trying a whole multitude of different retreats and changing her way of living. After extensive research, she decided to go to this clinic due to the UK having one of the lowest cancer survival rates in the western world. She knows a lot about the disease that has tried to kill her multiple times and knows that this is the best route to take. All contributions will be used for the Arcadia clinic and further specialist treatments and supplements to support the integrative medicine such as; Reiki, Bio-Resonance, Reflexology, Infra-Red sauna (because cancer doesn't like heat), Power tubes for pain and Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (because cancer doesn't like oxygen). The main priority however is to get her to the Arcadia clinic as soon as we possibly can.

As a person, my auntie Trish is strong, modest and humble. She radiates warmth and positive energy as well as resembling a beautiful, vibrant angel. To look at her, you wouldn’t think she had suffered with cancer over the past 8 years; she is so full of life. She is extremely courageous, kind and loving as well as being a very family-oriented person and the life and soul of any party. She has two children, Joanna and Sam, not forgetting Rolo, the chocolate brown Labrador, who's like her third child. She has a huge family, consisting of 5 sisters, 2 brothers and around 50 nieces and nephews) She would love to see her children have their own children, something that is taken for granted by most people. We would all describe her as an inspiration and I'm sure for those that know Trish would agree.  She enjoys living life to the full and most importantly, having fun! It is in her nature to want to help people, so now it is time for us to give something back.

As you all can see, the target is very optimistic. However, she doesn’t want anyone to feel obliged to donate money, although, if you are in a position to donate, however small or large, it would be greatly appreciated by Trish and our family. Feel free to contribute in any way you feel is appropriate, there are plenty of other FUN-draising events you could do, including cheese and wine evenings or coffee and cake mornings or even a car boot sale! However,  if there is anyone that would prefer to donate in cash or has any ideas for FUN-draising events, please call/text 07534396633. As previously mentioned, this could potentially be a last resort for her so this is quite an urgent cause.
She won’t give up the fight!
