Dearest Friends,
On Monday, February 13, we suddenly lost our beautiful friend, sister, and daughter, Brandy Gallagher. Brandy was a best friend to many of us, and we are all heartbroken that she is gone.
Brandy was hilarious, sarcastic, and loved life. She was generous and loved her friends and family deeply. We all miss her terribly, and created this page as a means to help celebrate Brandy’s life by donating to one of her favorite places – The Morton Arboretum. She loved going to the Arboretum for runs with her parents and friends, to enjoy nature and the outdoors, read a book, listen to music, and soak up the sun...just a few of things she loved in life.
Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 for a tribute bench at the Morton Arboretum in Brandy’s name. Tribute benches at the Arboretum cost between $3000-$5000 and the funds go towards supporting the Morton Arboretum and their goal of making the world a greener, healthier, and more beautiful place. Brandy’s bench will be a place where all who loved her can visit and remember her amazing spirit and life, surrounded by natural beauty.
We have stretch goals if we receive more funds than our original goal. The Arboretum has customized gifts available if we receive enough funds to do that. We can also dedicate a tree, or a walkway brick in addition to a bench if we receive enough funds.
Brandy would want us to remember her for all the laughter and happiness she brought to everyone she knew. We plan on commemorating the bench with a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life. We hope to have this event in the late spring or early summer, when the flowers are in full bloom and the arboretum is buzzing with life and joy, just like Brandy did.
