Trevor Bennett

On Friday, May 11 at 3:40 am Davenport Police were called to the area of 300 Kimberly Road.  Trevor Bennett was found unconscious and badly beaten.  He had been walking home from a friends house. His phone and a small amount of money were taken.  It is believed that this was a random attack.  He was airlifted to Iowa City around 8:00 am.  He is in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospital.  He has several facial fractures, a skull fracture, a broken hyoid bone (throat area), broken finger, broken thumb, and multiple lacerations and general abrasions.  He is on medication that brings risk of blood clots, and he is being closely monitored.  He is currently unconscious and intubated, because he is unable to breath on his own due to the swelling in his nose and throat. He will remain this way until they can hopefully do facial reconstructive surgery and surgery on his hyoid bone on Monday, May 14 or Tuesday May 15.  He is still considered to be in critical condition and could use all the prayers and good vibes he can get. 

Trevor works for a construction company and will have no money coming in until he is able to go back to work.  There is no estimate on when he will be released from the hospital, very much less be able to go back to work.  His girlfriend, Kelly Snow,  recently lost her job and moved in with him.  He does not have any medical insurance, so the medical bills are going to be overwhelming.  It is going to be a really hard, long recovery  for him.  Anything you can do to help will be so appreciated.  All money raised will be used to offset his lack of income and pay his medical bills.  The last thing anyone dealing with this kind of tragedy wants to worry about is losing their home, vehicle, etc.
