Transports save lives and MS Critterz is in the life saving business!
We need your help to ensure we can save as many dogs and cats as possible. While we focus our efforts on adopting dog and cats out into our community, we recognize that in order to save them all, many will need to be transported up north. Shelters and rescues in more northern states do not have the same issues with overpopulation and overcrowding that we face in Mississippi. Our furry friends are quickly adopted out after being transported to our Northern rescue partners. As of right now, MS Critterz does not have a single transport van. That means, that we rely on staff and trusted volunteers to handle all transports in their personal vehicles. At times, we have to make multiple trips back and forth to the shelter to ferry dogs to adoption events and fundraisers. When we schedule out-of-state transports, we have to recruit several volunteer drivers and trust us, this is no easy task! With a transport van, we could increase the number of animals we can take in a single trip and decrease the number of volunteers we would need to recruit. Every animal we can safely get out of the shelter means another animal we can take in off the street. This is not simply a matter of wanting a van...this is a matter of NEEDING one in order to continue the life saving work that we are committed to. No donation is too small! Every dollar we receive gets us that much closer to our goal and will allow us to continue to fight for every homeless animal in our community. All funds received will go towards the purchase of our vehicle and the costs associated with transport including fuel, lodging and meals for our transport driver, and the maintenance of our vehicle.
